Team Members at ZAZA play a versatile role encompassing various aspects of daily operations. Employees will receive cross-training in all departments, including prep, dish, pizza, gelato, salad/cashier, bar, and runner. Crew Members should be comfortable engaging with guests to provide excellent customer service, as well as working in the kitchen and following recipes accurately.

Job Duties:

  • Greet all guests warmly as they arrive, thank them as they leave, and invite them to return.
  • Take orders, follow preparation instructions, and handle to-go orders, including ensuring accuracy and processing payments.
  • Unload and organize food truck deliveries.
  • Run food as it is prepared and observe eat-in guests, offering assistance as needed.
  • Properly and efficiently prepare and present all food items, accommodating special guest, owner, or manager requests.
  • Rotate food in walk-in coolers and freezers to minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Maintain cleanliness in food prep areas, workstations, and all storage areas, including the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
  • Follow all specifications for setting up hot and cold line stations.
  • Communicate requests, issues, and concerns promptly and professionally to the manager on duty.
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, available, and consistent with menu items, specials, and deviations.
  • Open, prepare, and close the restaurant, including setting tables, preparing garnishes and condiments, and cleaning floors, tables, chairs, and counters.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including conveying special guest needs to servers and supervisors.
  • Remove used tableware and clean table tops, chairs, booths, and restrooms.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of how to properly use and maintain all equipment at the station.
  • Report suspicious occurrences or hazardous conditions immediately to the manager on duty.
  • Practice safe work habits to prevent injury and comply with company and state safety rules, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to uniform standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous restaurant experience preferred
  • Excellent oral communication skills required
  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English

Working Conditions:

  • Generally in an indoor setting
  • Will occasionally use a computer
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to heat/cold from the mechanical equipment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
  • Will work near moving or mechanical parts
  • May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Ability to speak and hear
  • Visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances. (up to and possibly exceeding 8 hours).
  • Perform repetative hand and wrist motions
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25lbs.
  • Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50lbs.
  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
  • High mental and visual focus required for planning and executing complex workflow sequences.
